About ESClit
ESClit is the largest bibliographic database of literature about the Eurovision Song Contest. Its goal is to list and present scientific literature about the ESC and JESC, including books, scientific articles and book chapters.
The database aims to be up to date and to include literature very soon after its publication.
This website is privately owned, non commercial and free to use for anyone.
Are included:
- scientific literature about the Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest
- books, book chapters, doctoral dissertations and scientific articles in journals
- to some extent: biographies of notable persons involved in the event (artists, presenters, commentators...)
- non-scientific books in languages other than English
- self-published sources before 2005
- undergraduate and graduate thesises before 2005
Are usually NOT included:
- reviews
- self-published sources after 2005
- undergraduate and graduate thesises after 2005
- literature about other similar contests (Asiavision, Intervision)
- sheet music or lyrics collections without elaborate commentary
- audiovisual media (videos, podcasts...)
- sole conference presentations without any following publication in a book or journal (because I'm just one person so I'm too understaffed to include these as well ;-)
- publications of two pages or less
- introduction chapters or articles to special issues if they mainly consist of summaries
